Don’t say you don’t like what you have never tried (long enough).
Blogging has been a part of my creative process over the last year and I am glad that I stuck with it. It offers diversity in my creativity and gives me the chance to share more than what an image can. It allows me to share the day-to-day and I enjoy that part of it all.
If you have never written a blog before this post is for you. Do something you have never done before and explore a new way to create.
So, why should you blog?
Another creative outlet. I find that if, for some reason, I don’t pick up the camera and don’t feel inspired to photograph anything there is always something I can write about. Prior to blogging, I was never one to pick up the pen and just journal or write my thoughts down however the act of blogging changed all that.
Great addition to your website. A blog shows more of who you are and how you think. What makes you tick and it gives you another outlet to share details of what you do and how you do it. Most often, the creator you are inspired by has a blog and it is full of great information.
Helps defeat vulnerability. I think this one is key. We can be comfortable behind a camera speaking through our images but putting your words on paper (figuratively speaking) puts more of you out there is that is a good thing, not a negative one. Blogging has pushed me to share more of me and my creative process and helped to knock down some of my barriers of vulnerability.
I know, it is not as easy to try something new but we have to push outside our comfort zone to grow and be more of how God created us to be.
Be unfamiliar. Be outside your box. Be a new version of you.
Be great. Create.
